I'm sorry if I should know this already. Has anyone tried Acai Berry Juice for the kids? William has been a lifelong Juicy Juice grape and cherry drinker - but I saw this stuff in the store and I wondered if it might help since I think it is supposed to be anti-inflammatory and then someone on the net said black currant juice has the same effects.

I do not know about that. I thought it was used for weight loss.?? Will is also a juicy, juice drinker. Patty has recommended Xango juice to me for antioxidants.

Don't know much about acai berry juice, but Nich and me have been drinking smoothie drinks called Naked and they come in a number of different flavors and they taste good. I believe their website is naked.com. I've been drinking these in lieu of sodas or other unhealthy, sugary drinks. They're really not super thick like smoothies, but they are a little thicker than juice. They're natural, with no sugar, and have a pound of fruit in each bottle. The only problem is they don't sell large bottles. They only have single size drinks and they are a little expensive. I pay between $3.29 - $3.99 for each 15.2 oz bottle, depending on which store I get them from. These drinks are good to take with some medicines that taste awful as the drink can mask a bad taste rather well.

Hi Chris,

Acai Berry Juice has gained popularity as another good antioxidant. There is still a lot of research going on about it, but supposedly it is a step or two better then blueberries, so I have heard anyway. :shrug I have tasted it and bought a one serving bottle on occassion at the store when I was thristy. It's pretty tasty. There area lot of berry juices out there that anitoxidant properties nowdays. I have been using the Xango (mangosteen juice for just over 5 years) It has worked so well and we can tell a difference it we stop using it for a week. So we have stayed with this one because we know the results. Hey give it try.. unless he problems with juice, it certainly should not harmful, that for sure!!!

Just a word of warning if ordering Acai berry capsules for weight loss off the internet. I got sucked into the thought of loosing some unwanted pounds and ordered the free sample only paying for shipping(with a credit card). Well, one month after, I kept receiving shipments and then looked at my credit card activity on-line and they had given my credit card out to several companies that had charged $250+ to my card! I reported the fraud and cancelled the card and through much headache got the charges reversed.

Sorry to hijack this thread with a weight loss warning but I thought my FRIENDS should know!

Oh my - William certainly doesn't need to loose weight! I was looking at this drink and thought it might help with the brain.

They have added an entire line of acai juices to their existing 15 flavors of health drinks. The acai line called Bom Dia, which means "Good Morning" in Portuguese (the national language of Brazil) consists of three flavors including cacao, mangosteen and pomegranate. The Bom Dia drinks are different than their acai counterparts because Bolthouse has developed a proprietary process to retain more of the nutritional aspects of the acai while eliminating the gritty texture, normally found in the pulp of this berry.

I did see those capsules out there then after I started looking around. One time we ordered Richard Simmons vitamins and they wouldn't stop sending them until we got the credit card company involved.

I love Naked Juice! They can be kind of high in sugar, but are definitely better than sodas, and the sugar comes from servings of fruit. Some of them are really high in fiber and have lots of other health benefits. We used Naked Juice for Kraig, and it was naturally thicker so he didn't choke nearly as much. They are expensive, but I've also seen that you can buy some slightly larger bottles, or packs of them, at Sam's Club and it's cheaper. You can try Odwalla or Bolthouse Farms...they are really similar, and sometimes cheaper. Naked Juice is still my favorite!!! :eat

I don't know much about the others, but Pomegranet Juice is wonderful, but a little expensive. My mom and grandfather started drinking a cup a day of it after mom met a male nurse in NC that told her about the studies being done with it. The pure pom juice is very high in antioxidants. I don't know everything it can do, but I can tell you what it did for them. My mom was on very high powered blood pressure meds. She got off her blood pressure meds all together after drinking the pom juice for awhile. My grandfather has a bad heart, high blood pressure, diabetic, and prostate cancer that they have been watching. After drinking pom juice for awhile, his doc told him he was no longer testing diabetic and could go off the meds, he got off his blood pressure meds, his prostate levels actually went down, and he got a good report on his heart. They also say it helps alzheimers patients.

Wow! They told Lou's Grandma that she had kidney failure and would have to go on dialysis. She started drinking cranberry juice and soon cleared everything up. I always wondered if she just got better or if the juice got her on the road to recovery.
