I had a moment of excitement and then, it seemed to drain right out of my body,and this is after 28 years, that doesn't seem very encouraging does it. Just the facts! Thank you for sharing your family's life. It is an encouragement to all to see your faith and strength. I need to change my attitude to "Why not me?" rather than the "Why me?" that is comfortable.

My daughter, Lauren has just turned 8 years old and she continues to get more difficult and does not comprehend what is going on around her. It was really the worst birthday for us. She complains so much that we decided not to have a family party. She isn't in pain, just whining as part of her communication. It is developed over the last two months. We believe it is a behavior issue

Jess ~ Brenda is right. It is almost as if I can hear you when you write. I know Kaity can feel your love all around her always. I pray that the memories of how she suffered those last few months will fade, and the wonderful memories will take over your thoughts and dreams. Tell me another story soon Jess... Hi Jess,
It is nice to hear your words again, I feel like I can almost hear you when you write. I hear the sadness in your words but certainly do not know at all what it feels like. I just want you to know how very often Kaity is thought of around our house, always, Zach does not say ladybug without following it with Kaitybug!! We always talk to our angel friends Kaitybug and Moriah and Emily and Kendall. They all bring me much comfort on days when things get overwhelming and I'm missing gramp.
Today was one of those days and I hoped he was playing a game or reading a book with one of our beautiful angels. I know they are all at peace but it still does not help the hurt most days.
I'm so glad that your garden is bringing so much joy and comfort this year with the aroma of an angel and the peace your heart so deserves.
I'm comforted that you're keeping busy and hope when you have a too quiet moment at home, you'll give me or someone else a ring to brighten you up.

You most certainly do that to any friend of yours!!! :0)

Jessica, I am at Duke now with my daughter, Leslie, and my granddaughter, Isabel, who was recently diagnosed with Sanfilippo Type A. We came here for pretesting to determine eligibility for transplant. AS we have learned more about the process and the success (or lack of) with transplant, we are now leaning against it. I came upon this site as I was reading your message to another MPS parent. I want you to know that I feel your loss for your precious Kaitlyn and know from our own little Isabel that she brought you joy along with sadness and blessings others may never experience. Dear Jessica, I happened upon Kaity's website, and I got hooked...had to read and learn more about your sweet little girl. I went to your first journal entry and read something that made a connection. You said to ask the question, "Why not me?" Five years ago, our youngest daughter Emma was diagnosed with nueroblastoma....a type of childhood cancer. From the moment we found out, I thought to myself, "Why not Emma?" If it wasn't Emma, it would have been another two year old. Looking at things from that perspective makes the burden easier to bear. We would never wish cancer or any disease or handicap on another child. So we do the best we can, love those little babies until we feel our hearts will burst. Today Emma is a healthy 8 year old........we are so thankful, but there will always be the fear of the cancer returning in our hearts.............and I also know how you feel about not everyone understanding what you/we are going through. It's hard for others...scary for them....but I've learned how important it is to reach out to others and let them know that someone cares. I care about you and Kaity. My prayers are with you........angie
